The U209-000-R USB-to-serial adapter cable enables the connection of a 9-pin RS-232 serial device to a computer or laptop featuring a USB Type-A port. This cable is compatible with various devices such as modems, digital cameras, PDAs, and ISDN terminals, facilitating data transfer speeds of up to 230 kbps—twice the rate of a built-in serial port. With a compact 5-foot design, it is easy to store and transport. The cable features a doubled-shielded construction that incorporates gold-plated contacts, tinned copper braid, and an aluminum mylar foil shield to effectively eliminate crosstalk and minimize EMI/RFI interference. It is compatible with multiple operating systems including Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, Server 2008, 8, 8.1, Server 2012, and 10; Mac OS X 10.6 through 10.12; and Linux RedHat 7.3, 8.0, and 9.0, and also works with Android tablets and smartphones that support USB host mode (OTG).
