The large size general-purpose drills feature a three-flatted 1/2" reduced shank and are manufactured from premium cobalt high-speed steel. They have a 118° split point design, which facilitates easier and more precise penetration. With a standard overall length of 6" and a flute length of 3-1/8", these drills provide increased rigidity, reduced deflection, and improved hole accuracy. The standardized lengths allow for minimal adjustment during tool changes in screw machines and machining centers. The three flats on the shank deliver a more positive grip in the drill chuck, effectively reducing drill slippage under high loads, making them ideal for portable drilling applications. A TiN (titanium nitride) coating adds lubricity and hardness, enhancing chip flow, finish hole quality, and overall drill life.
