The Regular NPT Thread Taper Pipe Tap is designed for the internal threading of pipes and pipe fittings, featuring a regular (medium) hook suitable for general-purpose tapping across all commonly used materials. It boasts a ground thread for improved surface finish and tighter tolerances, with the nominal tap size based on the fitting size, rather than the actual tap size. NPT threads necessitate the use of a thread sealant or PTFE tape. This tap is manufactured from high-speed steel and is suitable for tapping in carbon steel, alloy steel, and cast iron.
