Product Details
Permeable cell culture inserts are designed to mimic in vivo conditions, featuring inserts that center in wells to prevent the membrane from contacting the sides and wicking between the insert and the side wall. This design allows the membrane to remain suspended above the well bottom, facilitating co-culture by enabling one cell line to grow inside the insert and another in the well below. These inserts are ideal for applications such as drug transfer assays, transport studies, migration assays, and cell-cell interaction studies. Cultures can be easily transferred to fresh media by moving the insert to a new plate. The inserts come in a 0.4 µm pore size, which is suitable for co-culture and drug transport studies, while 3.0 µm and 8.0 µm pore sizes are tailored for angiogenesis and chemotaxis experiments. Non-treated plates are sold separately, with the carrier plate being tissue culture treated to promote cell adhesion.
