The Merit Red Brass Seamless Standard Pipe Nipple measures 1-1/2 x Close NPT Male and is constructed from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This material is easier to machine, less brittle, and exhibits superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, ensuring it will not dezincify. The brass composition provides excellent resistance to corrosion from water and heat, as well as protection against attacks from saltwater, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. This versatile pipe nipple is primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but it is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
