Hygard® BR laminates provide superior performance compared to competitive glass and glass clad polycarbonate products, featuring a unique multilayer construction that withstands physical attacks and gunfire from high-powered handguns. This laminate line includes multiple levels of protection, from certified containment glazing to level 3 bullet-resistant materials, ensuring that Hygard® BR laminates do not "spider web" or spall, which allows for unobstructed vision—an essential factor during an attack response. Designed for security applications such as detention and correctional centers, government facilities, and banks, Hygard® BR laminates are increasingly utilized for employee protection in 24-hour gas stations, convenience stores, and other cash transaction areas. The ballistic grades include Hygard® BR750, a 0.750" thick, 3-ply polycarbonate and acrylic laminate that meets UL 752 level 1 for 9 mm ballistic attacks; Hygard® BR1000, a 1.000" thick, 4-ply polycarbonate laminate meeting UL 752 level 2 for .357 Magnum ballistic attacks and HP White TP 0500 level LV; Hygard® BR1250, a 1.250" thick, 4-ply polycarbonate laminate that complies with UL 752 level 3 for .44 Magnum ballistic attacks, HP White TP 0500 level LV, and ASTM F 1233 class 5; and Hygard® MS1250, a 1.250" thick, 4-ply acrylic and polycarbonate laminate meeting UL 752 level 6 for high-speed multi-shot 9 mm (UZI) ballistic attacks.
