The kit includes hooks made from forged alloy steel that is quenched and tempered, featuring an innovative cradle design that ensures 100% efficiency with Grade 100 chain. Each hook is individually proof tested to 2-1/2 times the working load limit and comes with a certification for safety. Additionally, each hook has a product identification code (PIC) for material traceability, along with the size and the name Crosby prominently displayed. These hooks are suitable for use with both Grade 100 and Grade 80 chain, allowing 100% of the chain sling capacity when using the A-1338 cradle grab hook. When forming a choker by hooking back to the chain leg, the angle of the choke must be 120 degrees or greater. For optimal use as a chain shortener, it is recommended to minimize chain twist and ensure the chain is fully engaged in the hook. The hooks are fatigue rated at 1-1/2 times the working load limit for up to 20,000 cycles, and the Crosby Grade 100 alloy products are identifiable by their platinum color.
