Built for years of heavy cutting, this numerically controlled shear enhances efficiency for industrial production runs. The kit includes a 15 HP motor that operates on 220-volt 3-phase power and is designed to cut up to 52"-wide sheet metal with a maximum capacity of 1/4" mild steel. Key features include adjustable blade gap and rake angle for high cut quality, an upper blade carriage that rides in a 3-axis bearing housing, and a heavy-duty precision ground and hardened rail system for accuracy and long blade life. Front and rear supports, side guides, and a roller infeed table facilitate material handling. Equipped with eight hydraulic hold-downs, each providing 3.2 tons of pressure to prevent lifting, this shear also features a programmable quick-change backgauge on a screwball rail system with a positioning encoder. Operators can switch between jog mode for inching, single cycle mode for one cut per pedal push, and automatic cycling mode for continuous production. A piece counter aids in managing production runs, while a remote operator control pendant includes an E-stop button and foot pedal controls. The blade gap can be easily adjusted with a simple handle to prevent crimping or folding, particularly with thinner materials. The adjustable rake angle can be modified according to material thickness to achieve cleaner cuts and lessen hydraulic strain, indicated by a light when the correct angle is set. The high carbon chromium blades, with multiple edges (2 on top, 4 on bottom), allow for several uses before resharpening. A shadow light covers the web width for accurate cut placement, while the fully welded plate steel framework ensures stability and reduces vibration.
