Ketron® PEEK 1000 is a virgin, unfilled polyetheretherketone that offers chemical and hydrolysis resistance comparable to PPS while allowing for operation at higher temperatures. This general purpose grade is unreinforced, providing the highest elongation and toughness characteristics among all PEEK grades. It can be used continuously at temperatures up to 480°F (250°C) and is suitable for applications involving hot water or steam without permanent loss of physical properties. For demanding environments, PEEK serves as a high-strength alternative to fluoropolymers. It possesses a UL 94 V-O flammability rating and generates very low smoke and toxic gas emissions when exposed to flame. The newly available black PEEK 1000 is particularly suitable for instrument components where aesthetics are crucial, as well as for seal components that require ductility and inertness.
