Ketron® PEEK 1000 (virgin, unfilled PEEK) provides chemical and hydrolysis resistance comparable to PPS while allowing for higher operating temperatures. This virgin PEEK material demonstrates exceptional steam and wear resistance, enabling continuous use up to 480°F (250°C) and in hot water or steam without significant degradation of physical properties. It serves as a high-strength alternative to fluoropolymers in demanding environments. With a UL 94 V-O flammability rating, Ketron® PEEK 1000 also features low smoke and toxic gas emissions when subjected to flame exposure. As a general-purpose grade that is unreinforced, it boasts the highest elongation and toughness among all PEEK grades. The newly available black variant of PEEK 1000 is particularly suited for instrument components where aesthetics are vital, as well as for seal components requiring ductility and inertness.
