Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) tubing is an economical plastic material known for its good chemical resistance and high impact strength at low temperatures. It exhibits excellent electrical properties and is available in both relieved low density and linear low density versions, providing a broader selection for customers. LDPE tubing is commonly used in air and pneumatic lines, fluid feeds, chemical transfer, wire jacketing, food and beverage processing, potable water systems, drains, and pool and spa supply lines. Unlike other polyethylene types, LDPE tubing is listed by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF 51), making it suitable for various applications where sanitation is crucial. This material demonstrates a high degree of inertness, forming a good barrier to gases, vapors, and moisture, while also maintaining good dielectric properties without imparting taste or odor to fluids. LDPE is manufactured from non-toxic, 100% virgin grade resins conforming to FDA standards, and it is a lightweight and cost-effective option. The factory stock includes tubing in sizes of 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", and 1/2" O.D. in translucent natural color, as well as 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" O.D. in opaque black. As a flexible yet semi-rigid product, LDPE tubing pairs well with push-to-connect fittings available in acetal or brass, with custom colors, sizes, and shapes also offered.
