Oil-filled nylon, characterized by its green color, features a special formulation of liquid lubricant encapsulated during manufacture, which ensures true lubrication at the bearing surface. This material is designed for applications where maintenance lubrication is difficult or impossible, while also limiting moisture adsorption, making it ideal for submerged or critical tolerance applications. An alternative option, Nyloil® Green, is available, and oil-filled nylon can also be provided in a natural oil version for food contact applications. The absence of pigment in this natural color allows it to comply with FDA regulations 21 CFR, Sec. 177.15 and USDA 3A sanitary standards 20-17 for direct contact with food.
