Ertalyte® TX is an unreinforced semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester (PET-P) designed for machining high-wear-resistant parts, featuring a solid lubricant filler. This material exhibits exceptional performance under high-pressure and high-velocity conditions, making it ideal for applications involving soft metal and plastic mating surfaces. Its key properties include high strength and stiffness, excellent wear resistance, very good dimensional stability, high creep resistance, and outstanding chemical resistance. As a result, Ertalite TX is particularly suitable for machining bushings and bearings that do not require startup or running lubrication. It complies with FDA and USDA regulations, making it excellent for use in food packaging and processing equipment. The dimensional stability, wear resistance, and low-friction characteristics of Ertalite TX outperform those of competitive filled polyethylene terephthalate polymers. It serves as an effective replacement for full-strength Delrin® AF when food contact is necessary. The standard sheet size is 24" x 39.4", and the standard rods measure 10 feet in length, with an option to cut them in half for FedEx or UPS shipping to save on freight; shipping notes can be added at checkout or assistance can be requested via phone.
