Insul-Sheet® insulation is an environmentally friendly, CFC-free, flexible elastomeric thermal insulation designed to retard heat gain and prevent condensation or frost formation on cold equipment, tanks, vessels, ducts, or large O.D. pipes, while also effectively retarding heat loss when used on hot equipment, ducts, or large pipes. This insulation can also serve as a duct covering, with thickness calculated to control condensation on cold surfaces. For optimum performance in outdoor applications, it is recommended to use 374 protective coating or other protective options like cladding or jacketing. The product complies with various specifications, including ASTM C 534 Type 2 (Sheet), Grade 1, ASTM D 1056-00-2C1, and USDA requirements. It features an STC rating of 17 per ASTM E 90 and has a UL 94-5V flammability classification (Recognition No. E300774). It is tested according to ASTM E 84 with a 2" 25/50 rating per UL 723 and NFPA 255, and meets the requirements of CAN/ULC S102-03 and NFPA No. 101 Class A rating. The product also complies with NFPA 90A/B Sect. 2.3.3 for supplementary materials for air distribution systems, UL 181 Sections 11.0 and 16.0 for mold growth/air erosion, and ASTM C 411 for hot surface performance of high temperature thermal insulation. Additionally, the MIL-P-15280, Form S (Sheet) certification is included, and R8 sheet meets R-value requirements of the International Energy Conservation Code for outdoor ductwork.
