Wheaton® sample vials are available in 20ml or 0.68oz amber variants, featuring a 24-400 finish and equipped with a 14B rubber liner. The vials are constructed from type I borosilicate glass, with the amber vials specifically made from 320 glass to provide protection for light-sensitive samples. The clear vials are produced from 33 low extractable borosilicate glass that meets ASTM type I, class A, and USP type I standards. These shorty vials have a low profile design, allowing for greater stability and reduced dead volume above the sample, making them suitable for compound storage. Catalog numbers 225012 and 225014 feature a white marking area for sample identification, and black phenolic screw caps are included. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use 14B rubber lined caps for aqueous samples and PTFE faced 14B rubber lined caps for organic samples. Both vials and caps are autoclavable, and replacement caps are available for separate purchase. The 2 ml vials fit the M-T vial file, catalog number 228778, while the 4 ml vials fit the M-T vial file, catalog number 228780. Vials with caps are packaged in partitioned trays, and the range includes both clear and amber options, all made from borosilicate glass, with the shorty vials® designed for enhanced stability and a choice of screw cap liners based on sample type.
