The all-plastic washer is designed to be economical, durable, and gentle on delicate glass or quartz cuvettes, effectively replacing traditional devices that are often more fragile than the cuvettes themselves. The kit includes a 500cc polypropylene vacuum flask, VIKEM® vinyl stopper, and 3 ft. PVC tubing for easy connection to a vacuum line. The washing process involves pressing the mouth of an inverted cuvette against a rubber cushion to induce suction, while water or other cleaning fluid poured into the 89mm (3") diameter funnel is sprayed forcibly into the cuvette and drains into the flask. Continued pressure on the cuvette creates airflow that helps dry it, and a final wash in acetone aids in the removal of water droplets. The minimum cuvette inner diameter must be 9mm or larger to ensure a proper seal over the spray nozzle.
