K-FIT™ prefabricated fitting is designed for easy and reliable insulation of standard fittings, manufactured under controlled conditions with an automated process to ensure uniformity, a good fit, and water-tight seams. This non-porous, non-fibrous product resists mold growth and is environmentally friendly, being CFC-free. It effectively retards heat gain and prevents condensation or frost formation on refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing, and chilled water systems, while also minimizing heat loss for hot water plumbing, liquid heating, dual temperature piping, and solar systems. The fitting complies with a variety of specifications, including ASTM C 534 Type 1 (tubing), Grade 1 / Grade 3 (ECO), ASTM D 1056-00-2C1, and USDA requirements. It is GREENGUARD certified for low VOCs, suitable for children and schools, and is listed as mold resistant. Additionally, it meets UL 94-5V flammability classification, ASTM E 84 1-1/2" 25/50 testing requirements, and complies with CAN/ULC S102-M88. The fitting has FMRC approval per guide chapter 14 for pipe insulation, holds an NFPA no. 101 class A rating, meets NFPA 90A sect. 2.3.3 requirements for supplementary materials for air distribution systems, and adheres to ASTM C 411 and UL 181 sections 11.0 and 16.0 for mold growth and air erosion.
