The kit includes vials and caps that are lot certified to be human DNA free, RNase free, DNase free, pyrogen free, and ATP free. It ensures non-pyrogenic, non-cytotoxic, non-mutagenic, heavy-metals free, and BSE/TSE free characteristics. All components are manufactured, assembled, and packaged in an ISO 7 (Class 10,000) cleanroom and are sterilized by beta radiation with a Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) of 10-6. The enhanced cap features a star socket designed specifically for use with automated capping and decapping equipment, and a slim profile cap design allows for a better fit in racks and boxes. Each vial has a unique barcode printed for automated data collection, as well as a white writing surface for specimen identification and printed graduations for accurate measurements. Both vials and caps are autoclavable and produced from medical-grade raw materials that do not discolor after re-sterilization. The packaging is tamper evident, and the self-standing tubes are designed to interlock with globe workstation racks; however, they are not to be used in the liquid phase of liquid nitrogen.
