Easy dual-access service panels characterize the Saniaccess 3, a 1/2 HP pump system designed to install a complete bathroom up to 15 feet below the sewer line or up to 150 feet away from a soil stack. It features a macerating system capable of processing human waste and toilet paper for residential applications. The blades are constructed from hardened stainless steel, eliminating the need for servicing or replacement. The unit includes a pressure chamber that starts and stops the system, along with a motor that drives the stainless steel macerator blades and the pump. Activation occurs when water flows into the Saniaccess 3, triggering a micro switch in the pressure chamber. The motor, sealed in an oil-filled enclosure, powers a common spindle/shaft that drives both the impeller and macerator blades while minimizing moving parts. Water and organic waste are transformed into slurry by the rotating macerator blades at 3600 RPM, and the resulting solids are expelled through a grill into a container where they are pumped upward to 15 feet and/or horizontally to 150 feet with gravity assistance. Once the water level in the container decreases, the micro switch turns off the system until the next flush. The average operating cycle lasts about 10–12 seconds, ensuring minimal power consumption. In addition to toilet waste, it is capable of discharging gray water from various other sanitary fixtures, including sinks, bathtubs, showers, and urinals. To accommodate a bathtub or shower, a base constructed from 2" x 6" (minimum) or 2" x 8" (recommended) lumber on edge is required.
