The 3M™ Defib-Pads consist of an electroconductive gel supported by a porous-woven fabric, featuring a bright orange color for easy visibility and a highly conductive coupling medium. Designed for safe and fast handling, these self-contained pads eliminate 'gel bridging,' which can lead to severe skin trauma or burns. There is no gel to clean off the paddles, leaving no residue on the patient and preventing pitting or corrosion of the paddles. The success rate of the 3M™ Defib-Pads is equivalent to the lowest resistivity gels, ensuring rapid application in emergency situations and ultimately saving time when it matters most. These pads are convenient for use with metal paddles, but they are not substitutes for Multi-Function Electrodes (MFE) with any Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The design focuses on ease of removal from the patient, no cleanup required, and ensuring that energy is efficiently delivered without any interference with CPR.
