The 59SC2D Multipose Comfort™ condensing gas furnace is designed for year-round electrical efficiency when paired with a compatible condensing unit, featuring an impressive up to 92.1% AFUE gas efficiency. This furnace incorporates a fixed-speeds, constant torque (FCT) ECM blower motor for electrically efficient operation across heating, cooling, and continuous fan operation, alongside a single-speed inducer motor and a single-stage gas valve. It utilizes a silicon nitride PowerHeat™ hot surface igniter and includes an adjustable blower speed for both heating and cooling. The construction features an aluminized-steel primary heat exchanger and a stainless-steel condensing secondary heat exchanger. With 4-way multipose installation flexibility, it is compatible with upflow, downflow, or horizontal installations, offering a unique vent elbow that provides 12 different venting options, including optional through-the-cabinet downflow venting capability. The furnace is factory-configured for upflow applications and has an ideal cabinet height of 35" (889 mm), making it suitable for taller coils while allowing ample room for service. It can be installed using direct-vent/sealed combustion methods, single-pipe venting, or ventilated combustion air, and is specifically approved for manufactured housing/mobile home use. The low NOx units are intended for California installations, meeting a 40 NG/J NOx emissions requirement, and the units are design certified in Canada.
