Dalton Enterprises™ SS-1H asphalt binder is an anionic emulsion specifically designed as a tack coat for applications such as patching, paving, overlays, and coating blacktop, promoting adhesion to blacktop (bituminous concrete). It can be applied using spray, brush, or squeegee, and does not require dilution, making it compatible with most sprayers. The tack coat has a thin consistency with an approximate density of 8.2 lbs per gallon and contains no aggregate. Cleanup cannot be performed with water; instead, a solvent must be used, so the sprayer system must be compatible with solvents for effective cleanup. SS-1H is a fluid chemical emulsion containing surface active agents to assist in "wetting" pavement surfaces and remains stable for mixing with clean sand and coarse aggregates for surfacing or patching mixes. For optimal use as a priming and tack coat, it can be diluted with cool, clean soft water.
