Scotch® Filament Tape 893 is a general-purpose packaging tape reinforced with continuous glass-yarn filaments, providing high tensile strength and low stretch. It features a clear 3M™ ScotchPro™ backing that offers excellent abrasion and moisture resistance. Ideally suited for bundling, reinforcing, or coil tabbing applications, the aggressive packaging-grade adhesive ensures a balance of high initial adhesion and long-term holding power to most fiberboard surfaces. The tape's tough film backing protects the filaments and adhesive, contributing to longer functional performance, while its good handling characteristics enhance ease of dispensing and application. This tape exhibits low stretch to stay tight and provides excellent moisture, abrasion, and scuff resistance. The clear polypropylene backing, reinforced with glass yarn filaments and a synthetic rubber adhesive, allows for printing, enabling advertising, warning, and labeling capabilities. With high shear and good initial adhesion, it maintains good long-term holding power and adheres well under a wide range of application conditions with minimal tape use. It holds instantly with minimal rubdown, making it an efficient choice for various applications.
