Scotch® Filament Tape 893 is a general-purpose packaging tape reinforced with continuous glass-yarn filaments that provide high tensile strength and low stretch. It features a clear 3M™ Scotchpro™ backing that offers excellent abrasion and moisture resistance. The aggressive packaging-grade adhesive is specially formulated for an optimal balance of high initial adhesion and long-term holding power on most fiberboard surfaces. This tape is particularly effective for bundling, reinforcing, or coil tabbing applications, especially under high temperatures or oily conditions; testing is recommended for suitability prior to extensive use. The tape's tough film backing protects the filaments and adhesive, enhancing functional performance while its good handling characteristics facilitate ease of dispensing and application. The low stretch design helps maintain tightness, while the clear polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments is compatible with synthetic rubber adhesive. The tape also allows for printing, making it suitable for advertising, warning, and labeling purposes.
