Scotch® Filament Tape 898 is a high-performance transparent packaging tape reinforced with continuous glass-yarn filaments, providing exceptional tensile strength. The transparent 3M™ ScotchPro™ backing offers excellent abrasion, moisture, and scuff resistance. This tape is designed with an aggressive adhesive formulated for balanced performance, featuring high adhesion and long-term holding power. It is ideal for "L" clip closures and "C" clip reinforcements, made from clear polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments and a synthetic rubber adhesive. Scotch® Filament Tape 898 complies with ASTM D5330, Type II, and exhibits abrasion and moisture resistance, allowing visibility of printed materials beneath the tape. With high shear strength, great initial adhesion, and excellent aging properties, it provides long package life and assures maximum performance for limited outdoor use. It facilitates time-saving dispensing and handling when used with a 3M™ dispenser, offers advertising and warning capabilities when printed, and minimizes unit costs by requiring less tape for high tensile strength applications. The tape holds securely with minimal rubdown and keeps boxes closed during normal warehouse cycles.
