Scotch® Filament Tape 898 is a high-performance transparent packaging tape reinforced with continuous glass-yarn filaments along its length, providing exceptional tensile strength. The tape features a transparent 3M™ ScotchPro™ backing that offers excellent abrasion, moisture, and scuff resistance, while the aggressive adhesive is specifically formulated for balanced performance, delivering both high adhesion and long-term holding power. It is ideal for "L" clip closures and "C" clip reinforcements and is made from clear polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments, utilizing a synthetic rubber adhesive. The tape meets ASTM D5330, Type II standards, and is designed to provide good protection for filaments and adhesive, ensuring longer package life. It offers high shear and great initial adhesion, and is suitable for limited outdoor use. The tape also allows for printing and illustrations to be visible through its surface, enabling advertising and warning capabilities when printed. Additionally, it is designed to save time through ease of dispensing when used with a 3M™ dispenser and ensures that boxes remain securely closed throughout normal warehouse time cycles.
