Scotch® Filament Tape 898 is a high-performance transparent packaging tape reinforced with continuous glass-yarn filaments along its length, providing exceptional tensile strength. The tape features a transparent 3M™ Scotchpro™ backing that is highly resistant to abrasion, moisture, and scuffs. It is equipped with an aggressive adhesive specifically designed for balanced performance, offering both high adhesion and long-term holding power. The tape is ideal for "L" clip closures and "C" clip reinforcements, utilizing a clear polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments and a synthetic rubber adhesive. It meets ASTM D5330, Type II standards, ensuring compliance with industry specifications, and is abrasion and moisture resistant. The tape allows visibility of printed materials and illustrations, showcasing its high shear capability and excellent initial adhesion. Additionally, it offers good aging properties and protects filaments and adhesive, thereby extending package life. The tape is designed for limited outdoor use and promotes efficient dispensing and handling when used with a 3M™ dispenser. It also allows for printed advertising and warning capabilities, providing cost-effective solutions by requiring less tape for high tensile strength applications.
