Scotch® Filament Tape 893 is a general-purpose packaging tape designed for enhanced performance, featuring continuous glass-yarn filaments that deliver high tensile strength and low stretch. The tape's clear 3M™ ScotchPro™ backing offers excellent abrasion and moisture resistance, while its aggressive packaging-grade adhesive ensures an optimal balance of high initial adhesion and long-term holding power, particularly on fiberboard surfaces. Ideal for bundling, reinforcing, or coil tabbing applications—especially those involving high temperatures and oily surfaces—testing is recommended to confirm suitability for specific uses. The tape boasts a tough film backing that protects both the filaments and adhesive, ensuring longer functional performance. It offers good handling characteristics for efficient dispensing and application, along with minimal stretch to maintain tightness. The clear polypropylene backing is reinforced with glass yarn filaments and utilizes a synthetic rubber adhesive, allowing for printability where illustrations and labels can be displayed through the tape.
