Scotch® Filament Tape 893 is a general-purpose packaging tape reinforced with continuous glass-yarn filaments, ensuring high tensile strength and low stretch. It features a clear 3M™ Scotchpro™ backing that offers excellent abrasion and moisture resistance. The aggressive packaging-grade adhesive is formulated to balance high initial adhesion and long-term holding power, making it suitable for most fiberboard surfaces. The tape's characteristics include a tough film backing that protects the filaments and adhesive for extended functional performance, good handling properties for ease of dispensing and application, and low stretch to maintain tightness. It also boasts excellent moisture, abrasion, and scuff resistance, and is made with a clear polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments and synthetic rubber adhesive. Additionally, it is printable, allowing for visibility of prints and illustrations through the tape, and provides high shear and good initial adhesion, ensuring effective long-term holding power. The adhesive performs reliably under various application conditions while minimizing the amount of tape required and holds instantly with minimal rubdown.
