Scotch® Filament Tape 893 is a general-purpose packaging tape that features continuous glass-yarn filaments for high tensile strength and low stretch, making it suitable for a variety of applications. Its clear 3M™ ScotchPro™ backing offers excellent abrasion and moisture resistance, while the aggressive packaging-grade adhesive is engineered to deliver a balanced high initial adhesion and long-term holding power on most fiberboard surfaces. This tape is ideal for bundling, reinforcing, or coil tabbing, especially in high-temperature and oily conditions, though preliminary tests for suitability are recommended before extensive use. Attributes include a tough film backing that protects the filaments and adhesive for extended tape performance, good handling for ease of dispensing and application, and a low stretch design to maintain tightness. It also boasts excellent moisture, abrasion, and scuff resistance, with a clear polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments and synthetic rubber adhesive.
