Scotch® Filament Tape 893 is a general-purpose packaging tape reinforced with continuous glass-yarn filaments, offering high tensile strength and low stretch. The clear 3M™ ScotchPro™ backing provides excellent abrasion and moisture resistance, while the aggressive packaging-grade adhesive is formulated for high initial adhesion and long-term holding power, particularly on most fiberboard surfaces. The tape features a tough film backing that protects the filaments and adhesive, ensuring longer functional performance, and it exhibits good handling characteristics for ease of dispensing and application. It has low stretch to maintain tightness, and its clear polypropylene backing allows for printing, making illustrations visible through the tape. With excellent moisture, abrasion, and scuff resistance, this tape also features high shear and good initial adhesion, along with effective long-term holding power, making it suitable for bundling, reinforcing, or coil tabbing applications, especially in high-temperature or oily conditions. The adhesive maintains good holding under various application conditions while requiring a minimal amount of tape, and it holds instantly with minimal rubdown.
