3M™ Tartan™ 8934 filament tape is designed for light-duty applications, including reinforcing boxes, duty strapping, and bundling light items. The tape features a clear ScotchPro™ backing that is scuff resistant and adheres well to most fiberboard surfaces, as well as various plastics and metal surfaces. It has a thickness of 4.0 mil and consists of a clear polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments, combined with a synthetic rubber resin adhesive. This tape offers abrasion and moisture resistance, high tensile strength, and allows for the visibility of printing and illustrations through the tape. It provides good shear and initial adhesion, excellent aging properties, and protection of filaments and adhesive to extend the package's life. The tape requires less material for applications demanding high tensile strength while ensuring that boxes remain securely closed for extended periods under a wide range of application conditions.
