3M™ Tartan™ 8934 filament tape is designed for light-duty applications including reinforcing boxes, duty strapping, and bundling light items. This tape features a 4.0 mil thickness with clear polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments and a synthetic rubber resin adhesive, ensuring good adhesion to most fiberboard surfaces, as well as a variety of plastics and metal surfaces. It is abrasion and moisture resistant, providing high tensile strength while allowing for printing and illustrations to be visible through the tape. The product exhibits good shear and initial adhesion, good aging properties, and is effective in extending package life through the protection of its filaments and adhesive. It requires less tape at a lower cost for applications demanding high tensile strength, while ensuring boxes remain securely closed for extended periods across a wide range of application conditions.
