3M™ Scotch® 897 filament tape is designed for effective holding with minimal application across a variety of conditions. This glass-filament-reinforced tape is ideal for light to medium duty strapping, bundling, and reinforcing applications, providing strong adhesion to most fiberboard as well as numerous plastic and metal surfaces. The tape features a synthetic rubber adhesive that firmly adheres to surfaces while offering excellent moisture, abrasion, and scuff resistance, with a thickness of 6.0 mil. It is constructed with a clear Scotchpro™ polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments, ensuring high tensile strength and good initial adhesion. Additionally, it allows for visibility of printed illustrations and graphics through the tape, demonstrating good aging properties and maximizing package performance even in outdoor and humid environments. The tape protects its filaments and adhesive for a longer package life, requires less tape for applications emphasizing high tensile strength, holds securely with minimal rubdown, and ensures that boxes remain closed for extended durations.
