3M™ Scotch® 897 filament tape is designed for light to medium duty strapping, bundling, and reinforcing applications, providing strong holding with minimal tape required across various application conditions. This glass-filament-reinforced tape features a synthetic rubber adhesive that adheres firmly to most fiberboard surfaces as well as a variety of plastic and metal surfaces. The tape has a thickness of 6.0 mil and is constructed with a clear Scotchpro™ polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments, ensuring high tensile strength and excellent moisture, abrasion, and scuff resistance. Its good shear and initial adhesion, along with effective aging properties, protect the filaments and adhesive, extending the package life and enhancing performance in outdoor and humid environments. The tape allows for visibility of printing and illustrations, ensuring graphics and important messages remain clear, while requiring minimal rubdown for secure adhesion, keeping boxes closed over extended periods.
