3M™ Tartan™ 8934 filament tape is designed for light-duty applications such as reinforcing boxes, duty strapping, and bundling light items. The tape features good adhesion to most fiberboard surfaces, various plastics, and metal surfaces. It holds with minimal rub-down, boasts a clear ScotchPro™ backing that is scuff resistant, and sticks well to plastics, metals, and corrugated surfaces. With a thickness of 4.0 mil, it has a clear polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments and a synthetic rubber resin adhesive. This tape is abrasion and moisture resistant, providing high tensile strength, good shear and initial adhesion, as well as good aging properties. The design allows for printing and illustrations to be visible through the tape, while also protecting the filaments and adhesive for longer package life. Overall, less tape is needed at a lower cost for applications requiring high tensile strength, and boxes can remain securely closed for extended periods.
