3M™ Tartan™ 8934 filament tape is designed for light-duty applications, including reinforcing boxes, duty strapping, and bundling light items. It features a clear ScotchPro™ backing that is scuff resistant, providing good adhesion to most fiberboard surfaces, various plastics, and metal surfaces. The tape has a thickness of 4.0 mil and is made from clear polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments and a synthetic rubber resin adhesive. It is abrasion and moisture resistant, demonstrating high tensile strength and good shear and initial adhesion. This tape allows printing and illustrations to be visible through its surface, ensuring good aging and protection of the filaments and adhesive, which contributes to a longer package life. Less tape is required for applications where high tensile strength is essential, and it effectively holds boxes closed for extended periods under a wide range of application conditions.
