3M Tartan 8934 filament tape is designed for light-duty applications such as reinforcing boxes, duty strapping, and bundling light items. It features a 4.0 mil thickness and a clear polypropylene backing reinforced with glass yarn filaments, using a synthetic rubber resin adhesive. This tape has good adhesion to most fiberboard surfaces, a variety of plastics, and metal surfaces, and holds with minimal rub-down. It is abrasion and moisture resistant, offering high tensile strength and good shear and initial adhesion, along with good aging properties. The clear ScotchPro backing is scuff resistant, allowing printed illustrations to be visible through the tape. Additionally, the tape provides protection for the filaments and adhesive, ensuring a longer package life while requiring less tape for applications where high tensile strength is essential. The boxes remain securely closed for extended periods, making it an effective choice for various packaging needs.
