3M™ 4004 double sided foam urethane tape is designed to fill gaps on irregular surfaces, distribute stress, seal, cushion, dampen vibrations, and resist impact. The tape features premium grade 1/4" open cell polyurethane foam with a firm acrylic adhesive, making it ideal for many indoor applications as well as for exterior applications where the tape is protected from the environment. It is available with either a high-temperature holding acrylic adhesive system or a rubber adhesive system for bonding to various types of surfaces for mounting, joining, and holding. The acrylic adhesive offers high bond strength and high temperature and solvent resistance. The conformable foam has high shear strength and operates effectively within an ideal temperature range of 70°F to 100°F. The natural colored urethane foam tape products vary from white to light yellow, with the color changing to light yellow upon exposure to sunlight (ultraviolet radiation), a normal occurrence that does not affect the tape's performance.
