The Super Strong 3M™ 4950 VHB™ Tape is designed to provide exceptional strength and versatility, functioning as a tape fastener that often replaces traditional fasteners like rivets, bolts, screws, spot-welds, and liquid adhesives. This VHB™ joining system utilizes firm acrylic adhesives known for their outstanding long-term holding power, boasting significantly higher peel adhesion and tensile holding power compared to standard pressure-sensitive tape products. The tape is resistant to solvents, temperature extremes, and UV light, making it suitable for a wide range of both interior and exterior applications. It can be used to attach stiffeners, bond aluminum skin to steel support structures in trucks, vans, and ambulances, as well as bond architectural signs to frames. The adhesive is general purpose on both sides of firm type foam and features a kraft paper liner with white acrylic foam equipped with an acrylic adhesive. The operational temperature range is from -40°F to 200°F, and it complies with UL746C standards.
