3M™ 4008 double-sided foam tape is designed to fill gaps on irregular surfaces, distribute stress, seal, cushion, dampen vibrations, and resist impact. This tape is made from premium grade 1/8" open cell polyurethane foam and features a firm acrylic adhesive, making it suitable for various indoor applications as well as exterior applications where it will be protected from environmental conditions. The adhesive system is available in both high-temperature holding acrylic and rubber adhesive options for bonding to different surfaces for mounting, joining, and holding. Key features include high bond strength, high temperature and solvent resistance, and conformability with high shear strength. The ideal temperature range for application is 70° F to 100° F. The natural colored urethane foam tape products range from white to light yellow, with color change to light yellow occurring upon exposure to sunlight (ultraviolet radiation). This color change is normal and does not affect the tape's performance.
