3M™ 4008 double sided foam tape is designed to fill gaps on irregular surfaces, distribute stress, seal, cushion, dampen vibrations, and resist impact. The kit includes premium grade 1/8" open cell polyurethane foam, featuring either a high temperature holding acrylic adhesive system or a rubber adhesive system, allowing for bonding to various surface types for mounting, joining, and holding applications. It is particularly effective for many indoor applications and for exterior uses when protected from the environment. The acrylic adhesive provides high bond strength, as well as high temperature and solvent resistance, while the conformable foam ensures high shear strength. The tape operates effectively within a temperature range of 70° F to 100° F. The natural colored urethane foam tape varies from white to light yellow, and upon exposure to sunlight (ultraviolet radiation), it will change to light yellow, a normal occurrence that does not impact the tape's performance.
