3M™ 4004 double sided foam urethane tape is designed to fill gaps on irregular surfaces, distribute stress, seal, cushion, dampen vibrations, and resist impact. The tape features conformable foams that offer high shear strength and is available with either a high-temperature holding acrylic adhesive system or a rubber adhesive system, making it suitable for bonding to various types of surfaces for mounting, joining, and holding applications. It includes premium grade 1/4" open cell polyurethane foam with firm acrylic adhesive, ideal for many indoor applications or for exterior applications where the tape is protected from the environment. The acrylic adhesive provides high bond strength along with high temperature and solvent resistance, while the conformable foam maintains its high shear strength. The ideal temperature range for use is between 70° F and 100° F. The natural colored urethane foam tape products vary in color from white to light yellow, with a color change to light yellow occurring upon exposure to sunlight (ultraviolet radiation), which is a normal phenomenon that does not affect the tape's performance.
