The Supercombo® Open End wrench features specially designed grooves that direct wrench force away from fastener corners, while the Supertorque™ box opening design allows for higher torque without rounding or deforming hex fastener points. This wrench meets aerospace specification AS 954 for 12 point fasteners and provides an accurate torque/tension relationship for precision applications. It can be used on all common hex (6 point) fasteners with advantages over conventional box end wrenches, increasing hand tool flexibility and economy. The box and open end openings are identical, and the wrench is designed to apply forces on the flat surfaces behind the points, rather than contacting the corners.
