The Ultra-Self Bailer® is designed to passively filter hydrocarbons from stormwater in outdoor spill containment products, addressing the challenge of rainwater filling containment sumps and reducing their capacity to hold chemicals, fuel, or hazmat. It attaches to spill containment units typically via a bulkhead fitting, allowing rainwater to drain through while the filter media inside removes residual oil, gas, or hydrocarbons, permitting only clean water to exit. In case of a spill, the media swells to seal off the bailer, preventing liquid escape. The system offers the best protection for non-monitored containment sites, eliminates issues caused by rainwater accumulation, and features simple installation compatible with nearly all UltraTech containment products. It captures hydrocarbon sheens and modest spills with stormwater draining through the outflow port, while larger or concentrated spills trigger an auto shut-off mechanism. A manual shut-off valve is included to secure draining operations and facilitate filter cartridge replacement, with filters being quickly and easily replaced. The product is constructed from PVC, which resists rust and corrosion.
