The Ultra-Self Bailer® is designed to passively filter hydrocarbons from stormwater in outdoor spill containment products, addressing the challenge of rainwater filling containment sumps and reducing their capacity to hold chemicals, fuels, or hazmat. It attaches to spill containment units, typically via a bulkhead fitting, allowing rainwater to drain through while filter media inside the unit removes residual oil, gas, or hydrocarbons, enabling only clean water to exit. In the event of a spill, the media swells and seals the self bailer, preventing liquid escape. This product provides effective protection for non-monitored containment sites, eliminates issues caused by rainwater collection, and features simple installation compatible with almost any UltraTech containment product. It captures hydrocarbon sheens and modest spills, while larger or concentrated spills trigger an automatic shut-off mechanism. A manual shut-off valve allows securing all draining operations and facilitates filter cartridge replacement. The filters are designed for quick and easy replacement, and the unit’s PVC construction ensures it will not rust or corrode.
