Tartan™ box sealing tape 305 is a general purpose packing tape suitable for lightweight applications, particularly in the food and beverage industry. It features a 1.8 mil (46 micron) polypropylene film backing that is easy to handle and resists abrasion, moisture, and scuffing. The pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive provides consistent and reliable adhesion, conforming easily around edges and rough surfaces for a tight seal. The tape is designed to withstand cold temperatures and allows for smooth dispensing by hand, with manual dispensers, or with 3M-Matic™ case sealers. It meets FDA guidelines for indirect food contact and resists aging, weathering, and UV light. This non-yellowing tape offers high-edge tear and split resistance, making it strong and dependable for closing regular slotted containers (RSC) and packages used for moving, shipping, and distribution. It performs well on recycled corrugate and fiberboard, making it suitable for general use, cold temperature applications, cartons exposed to UV light and aging, as well as tabbing and bag closure.
