NEMA 4X thermostat control systems operate cabinet coolers efficiently by activating the cooler only when internal temperatures approach critical levels, making them ideal for fluctuating heat loads caused by environmental or seasonal changes. The standard system includes an adjustable thermostat factory set at 95°F (35°C) and incorporates a vortex tube to produce cold air from compressed air without moving parts. Constructed of stainless steel for food service and corrosive environments, these NEMA 4X (IP66) cabinet coolers are dust-tight, oil-tight, splash resistant, corrosion resistant, and suitable for indoor/outdoor service. They feature a low-pressure relief valve for both the vortex tube and cabinet air exhaust that seals when the cooler is off to maintain NEMA 4 enclosure integrity. Cooling capacities reach up to 5,600 BTU/hr (1,641 watts), and installation is simplified by mounting through a standard electrical knockout. Applications include programmable controllers, line control cabinets, motor control centers, relay panels, NC/CNC systems, modular control centers, CCTV cameras, computer cabinets, cool laser housings, and electronic scales. These UL listed, CE compliant cabinet coolers provide quiet operation, stabilize enclosure temperature and humidity, eliminate fans and filters, prevent circuit drift and heat damage, maintain NEMA 4 integrity (IP66), stop nuisance tripping, and provide washdown protection. The systems are maintenance-free with no moving parts and do not use CFCs.
