NEMA 4 (IP66) thermostat control systems are designed for efficient operation of cabinet coolers by activating the cooler only when internal temperatures approach critical levels, making them ideal for fluctuating heat loads caused by environmental or seasonal changes. These systems include an adjustable thermostat factory set at 95°F (35°C) and feature a low pressure relief valve for both the cooler and cabinet air exhaust, which closes and seals when the cooler is not operating to maintain the NEMA integrity of the electronic enclosure. The NEMA 4 (IP66) cabinet coolers, which are dust-tight, oil-tight, splash resistant, and suitable for indoor/outdoor service, are available in various cooling capacities up to 5,600 BTU/hr. (1,641 watts) for large and small control panels. Unlike freon-based air conditioners, they use a vortex tube to generate cold air from compressed air without moving parts, ensuring maintenance-free operation. Installation is simple, as they mount through a standard electrical knockout, and each system includes a water-dirt filter separator to prevent water condensate and dirt from entering the enclosure, as well as a cold air distribution kit to direct airflow for optimal circulation or targeted cooling. All cabinet coolers are UL listed and CE compliant, compact, quiet, help stabilize enclosure temperature and humidity, contain no CFCs, prevent nuisance tripping, and protect against heat damage. They are suitable for applications including programmable controllers, line control cabinets, motor control centers, relay panels, NC/CNC systems, modular control centers, CCTV cameras, computer cabinets, cool laser housings, and electronic scales.
