NEMA 4 (IP66) thermostat control systems are designed to efficiently operate cabinet coolers by activating the cooler only when internal temperatures approach critical levels, making them ideal for fluctuating heat loads due to environmental or seasonal changes. These standard systems include an adjustable thermostat factory set at 95°F (35°C) and feature a low pressure relief valve for both the cooler and cabinet air exhaust to maintain the NEMA integrity of the electronic enclosure when the cooler is not operating. The NEMA 4 (IP66) cabinet coolers are dust-tight, oil-tight, splash resistant, suitable for indoor and outdoor service, and available in various cooling capacities for large and small control panels, with cooling capacities up to 5,600 BTU/hr (1,641 watts). Unlike freon-based air conditioners, these coolers use a vortex tube to produce cold air from compressed air with no moving parts, allowing for maintenance-free operation and easy installation through a standard electrical knockout. Each system includes a water-dirt filter separator to prevent water condensate and dirt from entering the enclosure and a cold air distribution kit to direct air circulation or target hot spots. All cabinet coolers are UL listed and CE compliant. Typical applications include programmable controllers, line control cabinets, motor control centers, relay panels, NC/CNC systems, modular control centers, CCTV cameras, computer cabinets, cool laser housings, and electronic scales.
